Service
These terms of use (hereinafter referred to as "these Terms") set forth the conditions for the use of the services (hereinafter referred to as "the Services") provided by Web Directions East LLC (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") on this website. All registered users for this event (hereinafter referred to as "Users") shall use the Services in accordance with these Terms.
Article 1 (Application)
These Terms shall apply to all relations concerning the use of the Services between Users and the Company.
Article 2 (Registration)
Registration shall be completed when a person wishing to register applies for participation in the manner specified by the Company, and the Company approves this application. Registrants may not resell their rights to others. Moreover, registration is for the use of the registrant only.
If the Company determines that the applicant for registration has any of the following reasons, the Company may refuse to approve the application for registration, and shall have no obligation to disclose the reason:
- In the case where false information was provided when applying for registration
- In the case where the application is from someone who has previously violated these Terms
- In any other case where the Company deems the application for registration inappropriate
Article 3 (Fees and Cancellation Policy)
Users shall pay the usage fee, which is separately determined by the Company and displayed on this website, in the manner designated by the Company as consideration for the use of the Services.
Users can cancel their application within seven business days from the application date. However, cancellations cannot be made from five business days before the event date.
If the deadline has passed, it will not be automatically canceled. Users must contact support@uxdaystokyo.com.
If applying for both the conference and workshop and receiving a discount, the date of service provision for the conference will be the transaction date.
Additionally, cancellations due to speaker changes are not allowed.

- Purchasers can transfer tickets through their My Page. If there is an unpaid amount, the transferee is responsible for payment
Article 4 (Payment Provisions)
Payments must be made by the date set by the organizer. In the event of a delay, the Company may claim delay damages within the limits set by the Civil Code.
Invoices will be issued and sent to the name and address specified in the relevant form. In principle, invoices will not be issued to other parties.
Invoices and receipts will only be issued in PDF format for download from the designated download location. They will not be issued on paper.
Bank transfer fees will be borne by the sender.
In principle, receipts will not be issued for bank transfers based on the priority of the special provision regarding the obligation to provide a receipt as per Article 486 of the Civil Code. The transfer statement from the financial institution will serve as the receipt.
Receipts will be issued in the name of the person who made the transfer, and will not be issued under a different name.
Receipts will only be issued for applications that have been paid.
Article 5 (Prohibited Activities)
Applicants shall not engage in the following activities when using the Services:
- Acts that violate laws or public order and morals
- Acts related to criminal activities
- Acts that destroy or interfere with the functions of the Company’s servers or networks
- Acts that may disrupt the operation of the Company’s services
- Collecting or accumulating personal information related to other users
- Impersonating other users
- Providing direct or indirect benefits to antisocial forces in relation to the Company’s services
- Any other acts deemed inappropriate by the Company
- Disclosing information obtained through the use of the Services to the public
- Copying and selling information obtained through the use of the Services without permission
- Recording or publicly disclosing content obtained through the use of the Services
- Contacting the invited speakers or related parties of the Company to organize similar events, meetings, or projects using electronic means
Article 6 (Suspension of Service Provision)
The Company may suspend or interrupt all or part of the provision of the Services without prior notice to Users if it determines that any of the following reasons exist:
- When maintenance, inspection, or updates of the computer system related to the Services are performed
- When it becomes difficult to provide the Services due to force majeure such as earthquakes, lightning, fires, power outages, or natural disasters. The Company shall not be liable for any damages, losses, or disadvantages suffered directly or indirectly by customers as a result. The Company shall also not be obligated to provide refunds.
- When the computer or communication lines are interrupted due to an accident
- When the Company determines that it is difficult to provide the Services for any other reason
The Company shall not be liable for any disadvantages or damages incurred by Users or third parties due to the suspension or interruption of the provision of the Services, regardless of the reason.
Article 7 (Usage Restrictions and Cancellation of Registration)
The Company may, without prior notice, restrict the use of all or part of the Services to Users or cancel their registration as Users in the following cases:
- If any provisions of these Terms are violated
- If false information is found in the registration details
- In any other case where the Company deems the use of the Services inappropriate
The Company shall not be liable for any damages incurred by Users due to actions taken under this Article.
Article 8 (Disclaimer)
- The Company shall be exempt from liability for breach of contract if such breach is not due to the Company's willful misconduct or gross negligence.
- Even if the Company is liable for any reason, it shall only be liable for damages within the scope of normally foreseeable damages and, in the case of paid services, within the amount of the fees (the equivalent of one month’s fee for continuous services).
- The Company shall not be liable for any transactions, communications, or disputes that occur between users and other users or third parties in relation to the Services.
- If the simultaneous interpretation transceiver used on the day is lost, compensation (25,000 yen) will be charged to the interpretation company.
Article 9 (Publication of Photos and Videos, Right of Portrait)
The Company may publish photos and videos taken by the contractors commissioned by the Company during the event. In such cases, photos in which participants can be identified may be published without prior notice.
Article 10 (Changes to Service Content)
The Company may change the content of the Services or discontinue the provision of the Services without notifying users, and shall not be liable for any damages incurred by users as a result.
Article 11 (Changes to Terms of Use)
The Company may change these Terms at any time without notifying users if deemed necessary.
Article 12 (Notices or Communications)
Notices or communications between users and the Company shall be conducted in the manner specified by the Company.
Article 13 (Prohibition of Assignment of Rights and Obligations)
Users may not assign their position under the service agreement or their rights or obligations under these Terms to a third party without the prior written consent of the Company.
Article 14 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
The governing law for the interpretation of these Terms shall be Japanese law. In the event of any dispute arising in relation to the Services, the court having jurisdiction over the location of the Company's headquarters shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
